Looking for a New Year’s Resolution that is healthy and fun? Have you heard about Coronado’s newest running event?
On Sunday, February 13th, 2011, the inaugural Coronado Valentine’s Day 10K will be held at Tidelands Park in Coronado, CA. This new and exciting event, which will bring thousands to Coronado to run or walk and celebrate Valentine’s Day, is designed to highlight Coronado as a hot spot for couples to spend Valentine’s Day. Whether you want to race this flat and fast course for a new 10K PR (Personal Record) or just enjoy a fun run through Coronado with your Valentine, this is one event you do not want to miss. You can sign up as an individual (Coronado residents and Active Duty Military receive a discount) or as a couple to compete against other couples. Regardless of your athletic ability, this is one event you do not want to miss. Walkers and baby strollers are welcome.
The local community has come together to support this event and local sponsors such as Coronado Fitness Club, Blue Jean and Bikini’s, Wag n’ Tails, Burger Lounge, Spirit Realty, Alberston’s, and a few off island businesses such as Love Happens Here, Medifast, and Gordon-Biersch are making this event happen. The local media has also joined in to support the race and you can find articles and announcements at eCoronado.com, WelcomeToCoronado.com, and in Coronado Lifestyles Magazine. And the post race awards and raffle will be held outside on the patio at McP’s Irish Pub and Grill.
