Coronado Public Library Junior Volunteers’ Christmas Play

On Thursday, the Coronado Public Library Junior Volunteers put on a Christmas play for children. The play was titled “The Perils of Cookie” and was about a villain’s plot to overthrow Santa Claus. In the end, he is foiled by his sister, who decides to become a hero and leave the Villain’s league. The play was directed by Ellenjoy Webber, head of children’s services at the library, and starred Michael Cox as Santa, Al Brown as Charlie Chillfactor (a hero), and Michaela Steiuer as Fiendly Frostbite (the villain). The play also featured sub-characters such as Mrs. Claus, played by Piper Axtell, Cookie Claus, played by Emma Coomes, and Felice Frostbite (Fiendly’s sister), played by Joy Fucela. It was very well received by the audience, and the acting was the best the library has ever seen. There were two performances, and by the second, the actors performed with the experience of seasoned Broadway veterans. Below are some pictures of critical emotional moments in the play, including a complete cast shot.
