The move comes after several residents and staffers gathered to form a committee to study the matter last week.
The first meeting was held Sept. 23 at Coronado Unified School District offices, where teachers and parents expressed concern over the possible displacement of kindergartners and extra costs for the creation of the preschool at the Early Childhood Development Center on Sixth Street.
The superintendent, who attended the meeting, said his reversal is related to the delayed state budget.
