Live entertainment will keep your toes tappin’ throughout the day, starting with the Sundance Band at 10:30 am. At about 1 pm, the well-known Bill Magee Blues Band will make you glad to be in Coronado on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Shortly after 3 pm, the Toquali Band, featuring Coronado local Tokeli, will get you ready for the evening with their lively jazz beat. On view at the Ferry Landing will be the beautiful sculptural Urban Tree “Evolution,” designed by Jon Koehler and Neil Shigley. Last year more than 5,000 visitors from the San Diego region as well as tourists from thirteen states and four foreign countries attended the Coronado Art Walk. The Coronado Ferry Landing offers several dining options, and parking is available in two adjacent lots as well as on nearby streets. Alternate public transportation to Coronado includes the 901 bus as well as the ferry which leaves every hour from the Broadway Pier and every two hours from the Convention Center; visit sdhe.com/san-diego-bay-ferry.html for the ferry schedule. Once on the island, a bright red, double-decker bus will run from the Ferry Landing up Orange Avenue, making a number of stops along the way so visitors can see Art in the Park, the Museum of History & Art and the Hotel Del Coronado before returning to the Coronado Ferry Landing. Visitors and Coronado residents are welcome to ride for free and hear commentary given by docents about Coronado’s history and local art sites. Funding to help with this year’s Coronado Art Walk has come from the annual Arts Ball, from the San Diego Unified Port District, the Coronado Ferry Landing, Russ and Mary Johnson and other generous friends of the Coronado Art Walk. All money raised from the Coronado Art Walk will help the Coronado Historical Association’s mission of preserving, collecting and educating the public about Coronado’s history and art.
