Five local teams participated in the Mixed Team Tennis League (MTTL) which is run through the CORONADO TENNIS ASSOCIATION (CTA), a Non-Profit Organization. There are 15 players on a team and tennis ratings range from 3.0 to 4.5.
The Eagles defeated the Avengers by winning two of the three total matches. Each match consists of two sets. When sets are split, a ten point tie-break decides the 3rd set. In the final match, Dennis Navarro & Alex Phillips (Eagles) played against Fevin Reyes & Fred Mougayar (Avengers) at the 4.0-4.5 level. The Eagles lost the first set 5-6 but won the second set 6-0. The tiebreak went to the Eagles by a score of 10 to 4.
There were 15 weeks of matches played, every Saturday morning between 8am and 12:30pm at the Glorietta tennis courts. Five matches are played each Saturday by each team. Three Saturdays of play-offs determine which team takes the champtionship.

Co-captain Suzy Weekly shared, “This has been an amazing season on many levels. This is the first season in which the CTA MTTL has had five teams. Previously, we only had enough players for four teams. Now that more people learn about this league they are interested in signing up to play. New friendships are made and you visibly see players improve their game. For me, the final match played on the 26th of August was a great win. I knew our competitors were really tough to beat and many of my top key players were not available to play. However, my team played their hearts out. The women’s doubles match was a great win for us. Emma Chang and Joulie Medosch (Eagles) played some great tennis against formidable Elisabeth Ostermarker and Anne Price (Avengers).”
