After hearing public complaints about their website which was almost 8 years old, as well as internal frustrations, the City of Coronado went live with their new website on July 20 and so far it seems like thorough pre-launch testing was done. It’s cleaner, the navigation makes sense, and from the browsing and searching I’ve done, it’s working well.
It can be useful for (this is a very small sample of options)
- checking on loud noises (the city usually issues noise alerts in advance),
- updates on public construction projects,
- finding out what arts and culture events are happening,
- getting park hours and party permit rules,
- checking the status of a library book or movie,
- business licensing and construction permit information,
- public service hours and phone numbers,
- and so much more.
If you haven’t had a chance yet, click here, and then browse around. You may want to bookmark the site as well.

An app for smartphones was also implemented. Search “ask coronado” in your app store to download the free app.

I am very appreciative of the new site and better technology, and look forward to using it often.
