SAN DIEGO, Calif. (February 10, 2011) For a woman diagnosed with breast cancer, it requires tremendous courage and strength to cross the threshold into survivorship. Then to take that courage and transform it into drive to raise awareness and funds for the cause to ensure other women have a fighting chance at survival is truly powerful. On Tuesday, February 22, Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, San Diego and Hotel del Coronado present EAT PRAY SPA to honor the top 12 breast cancer survivors who were also the top fundraisers in 2010.
“We have amazing gratitude for their courage as a breast cancer survivor, but we also appreciate their efforts in becoming one of the top fundraisers for the 2010 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure,” said Laura Farmer Sherman, breast cancer survivor and founding executive director. “As many know, 75% of the funds raised will go to support breast health services for uninsured and under insured individuals in our community and 25% of the money will go to support important national research.”
Each of our 12 guests will have the opportunity to select from a menu of services to relax and receive a gift of appreciation.
The public can experience the Celebration of Life treatment, which is a lymphatic drainage treatment, at the Spa at the Del all year round. With each Celebration of Life purchased, the Spa at the Del gives back to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, San Diego. Lymphatic drainage helps to boost circulation and release toxins from the lymphatic system using very light pressure. No oils are used.
