The annual Village Elementary Jog-a-thon, sponsored by PATT (Parents and Teachers Together), is set for March 19 and 20. One of the biggest fundraisers of the year, the Jog-a-thon encourages students to collect pledges for the thirty minutes they will walk/jog around the track. Generously sponsored, once again, by local Orthodontist Dr. Diane Milberg, this year’s jog-a-thon proves to be fun for all!
The students at the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) will lace up their shoes and walk or jog on the P.E. loop at their facility Wednesday, March 19 at 10:30 a.m. Grades 1-5 will participate Thursday, March 20 at the CHS track. Times vary depending on the grade of your child with the first session starting at 9 a.m. and the entire event concluding by 2:30 p.m. This event is a parent and student favorite because it offers the opportunity for parents to take part alongside their children. Many students make personal goals of how many laps they can complete. Each session includes music, parents lining the track with squirt bottles and cheers of enthusiasm, as well as prizes awarded at the end for top earner in each grade. Some parents and teachers even join the children on the track.
All money raised helps fund classroom materials, our Physical Education program and other enrichment programs for our children. Everyone at Village benefits from the funds raised by Jog-a-thon!
We are extremely excited to announce that the grand prize for the student who brings in the most funds is a $500 gift certificate from event co-sponsor Holland’s Bicycles!
