On Wednesday, February 20, the Islander Boys’ Varsity Golf team hosted Francis Parker in heavy rain. Although this factor would normally affect the team’s performance, the Islanders used it to their advantage on their home course. Freshman Easton Phillips improved his score from last week by four strokes, shooting a 35, or one under par. With this excellent performance, Phillips was named Medalist of the Match. Scoring second for the Islanders, freshman Jake McLaughlin shot a score of 41 strokes. He was followed by senior Saul Chacon, who finished the course with one more stroke, and juniors Matt Schnappauf and Javier Hernandez, both of whom finished in 46 strokes. After tallying individual scores, the Islanders defeated Francis Parker by a significant margin, 210-230.

The team currently holds a record of two wins to no losses.
