Thank You
First and foremost, we want to thank our readers, our advertisers, our community partners and last but not least, our dedicated team of writers, editors, photographers, videographers and business professionals. Here is the current staff:
November 2002 – eCoronado.com Launched
Steve Johnson, publisher and owner, had the idea to create the first online newspaper for Coronado, CA. The goal was to create a more convenient publishing format for residents and visitors to access news, events and lifestyle articles by simply browsing online to eCoronado.com. The response was immense and overwhelmingly positive. Thousands of readers quickly adopted the online newspaper and thankfully, local businesses were quick to advertise which immediately validated the business and allowed for writers, editors, videographers and interns to be hired.
We especially want to thank the first three Managing Editors that have been critical to our success over the years:
- Ashley Jenkins (8/2011 – 3/2013)
- Brooke Prouty (3/2013 – 10/2015)
- Dani Schwartz (10/2015 – current)
2003 to Current – Writers, Videographers, Interns
Over the years, we have had amazing writers, interns and videographers. There are simply too many to name, but this photo, with Greer Goebels (third from left) will always be special to us and she will be missed.

September 2018 – 92118 Day
The Coronado Times was honored to be 92118 Day’s publication partner, website host and archivist to record this once-in-a-lifetime event. Steve Johnson came up with the idea of 92118 Day as a way to celebrate the community of Coronado in a once-in-a-lifetime celebration (on 9-21-18). Alisa Kerr and Rob Crenshaw partnered with Steve to manage the entire event and make it a huge success. Only 96 years to go before the next 92118 Day celebration.
