What is the definition of Social Distancing and open parks in Coronado?

I went for a walk today through the Ferry Landing and was SHOCKED at how many people were hanging out in the grassy areas on either side of the pier.

I saw multiple groups of teenagers and twenty somethings (in one group, at least one couple was making out!) and NONE of them were social distancing or wearing masks!

There was some decent spacing between most groups but definitely a large percentage of the groups were not “immediate family” and again, I didn’t see a SINGLE mask.

There are signs up that state the beach is open for swimming, fishing, kayaking but that the area is closed so why were the police allowing all those groups to “loiter”? Isn’t that not allowed?

And WHY would the Ferry Landing be open when Harbor View and Tidelands Parks are still closed???

The police should be enforcing the requirements at ALL locations! I get that it was a warm day and people are desperate to get out but aren’t we risking making the pandemic worse?

Either that or open the parks AND the beach for groups to gather!
