Throwback Thursday: 1975 Coronado 4th of July Parade (video)

Many thanks to San Diego CBS/CW (News 8) for alerting The Coronado Times to these “flashback videos” featuring Coronado during special holidays and events that we’ve been featuring the last few weeks.

When it comes to the 4th of July in San Diego, Coronado has always been one of the best places in the county to celebrate. It was america’s 199th birthday and 40,000 folks lined Orange Avenue to see the parade. It was one of the largest in the country according to Gene Gleeson, reporting with the Electro News unit… a catchy phrase for News8 news teams in 1975.
