Friends of the Coronado Public Library are pleased to announce the recipients of the Susan Stark Scholarship to Emma Sandke and Caroline Massie, both Coronado High School Seniors.
Bill and Shirley Stark presented the $1,000 scholarship checks, named in honor of their daughter, to Emma and Caroline. Susan Stark was a volunteer at Second Hand Prose book store, operated by the Friends of the Coronado Public Library (FOL), from 2008 until her death in 2015. A Coronado High School graduate, Susan was devoted to her family, was an avid reader, and a world traveler. The scholarship is awarded to one or more high seniors who have demonstrated character, integrity, honesty, is a positive role model, and who has volunteered at the Coronado Public Library or with the FOL for a minimum of 50 hours over a twelve month period. Both Ms. Sandke and Ms. Massie volunteered at both the Library and with the FOL. The FOL is pleased to honor their dedication to this important community institution.
