Amherst Writers and Artists Workshops in September and October

Coronado resident Ann Bancroft will be leading two three-week writers workshops this fall.

Writers at all levels of experience and any genre (fiction, non-fiction, poetry) are welcome to participate in three-week workshops at the Coronado Historical Association meeting room, 1100 Orange Ave. Using the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) method, the workshop will stimulate creativity, help you to develop confidence in your writing, encourage new work and support other writers.

In the AWA method, we write to prompts for a specific, short amount of time, from five to twenty minutes. Because all work is new, only positive responses are allowed: what I liked, what was strong, what stays with me. AWA keeps writers feeling safe in their writing by demanding confidentiality of the writers. All writing is presumed fiction.

Cost is $60 for each three-week workshop,
$50 for Coronado Historical Association members
Time: 9:30-noon
Sept. 12, 19 & 26
Oct.  13, 20 & 27
Space is Limited!

Workshop leader Ann Bancroft began writing fiction after a career in journalism. She has led AWA workshops in San Diego and Coronado and is working on a second novel.
