- Fact or Fiction: The City has responded in recent days to a few topics that have been widely discussed in the community on its Fact or Fiction: Answers to Rumors and Questions page. Please be sure to check in from time to time to see what has been addressed.
- Portable Restroom Trailer Open: The portable restroom has reopened for the summer at the end of the Avenida del Sol cul de sac at South Beach. Over the winter, it received a much-needed major overhaul due to heavy use. Sewer connections have been made and the facility will remain in place through summer.
- Next Sunday, May 28, marks the beginning of the Promenade Concerts in the Park summer concert series. Organized by Coronado Promenade Concerts Inc., concerts are held weekly on Sundays in Spreckels Park, through Sunday, September 3. Here’s a link to the concert schedule. To help ease traffic congestion and ensure the safety of concert-goers, the City encourages use of three curbside loading zones around Spreckels Park to safely drop off people and picnic gear. Vehicles are expected to vacate the zone in 3 minutes or less. Most concerts begin at 6 p.m. For earlier concerts, loading zone hours will also be earlier. As in 2016, there will be no fires, such as barbecues, allowed due to new insurance requirements for the organizing group. Remember, no “staking out” of spots prior to 3 p.m., no dogs in Spreckels Park, and no leafletting.
