Coronado Rotarian Chip Garry was surprised and honored when Navy Command Master Chief Matthew Logsdon presented him with a letter of recognition from Naval Base Coronado Commanding Officer Scott T. Mulvehill. The letter was given to Chip in appreciation of his dedication and leadership in the City of Coronado Pop Warner Football Program, and for providing “sage guidance and lifelong professional skills to our Coronado and United States Navy future leaders.” The letter continued, “The ability to motivate and coach youths in sport is a gift that many cannot comprehend. It takes patience, discipline, and a unique leadership tone that envelops the youth to becoming a member of the ‘team.’…Your dedication and leadership in allowing our youth to succeed and also fail in the game has opened their minds, setting a new paradigm in their life.”
