In a scenario markedly similar to what caused a much-commented-on facebook post just yesterday, two vehicles were involved in a collision on 4th Street that shut down the roadway at the cross section of D Avenue. The accident occurred around 1:15pm on Saturday, October 22, 2016.
According to City of Coronado Police Department Sergeant Eric Hima, a silver vehicle travelling north on D Avenue was t-boned as the driver tried to cross Fourth Street. Vehicles headed east on Fourth in the closest two lanes were stopped and the driver of the silver car attempted to make her way across the intersection. That’s when a car drove down the third and final lane on 4th Street and the collision occurred. Both cars were badly damaged, but no one was seriously injured.
All lanes on 4th Street are open as of 2:30pm.
