Humans of Coronado is a photo series where we “bump” into residents and visitors around the “island,” completely unplanned and unfiltered. It was inspired by Humans of New York. Next time you are out and about around town, you may just find yourself part of the next HOC series!
This segment of Humans of Coronado concerns Super Tuesday, which takes place on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Twelve states will cast their primary votes for the upcoming Presidential election. Participating states include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia.
California’s primary election does not take place until June 7, 2016, but if these Humans of Coronado had the opportunity to participate in Super Tuesday’s primary elections, how would they vote?

“Donald Trump. I’m very anti-establishment. I’m sick and tired of Washington and what’s going on in Washington. I don’t like his antics. I think it doesn’t show integrity. But of the group that it is narrowed down to, Donald Trump is still my choice.”
“Bernie Sanders. His message is very strong. I think he has a chance to unseed the establishment. Clinton is clearly part of an establishment that will be yet another dynasty, just winning based on her name. But it’s more than that. One of my core issues is how big money is infecting the government, and basically buying elections, buying policies. The whole issue of big money lobbyists changing laws takes the power away from the people. Bernie Sanders is the only one who’s really committed to addressing that issue.”
“I guess I would pick Marco Rubio. He’s the least evil choice I guess. I’m just not happy with any of the candidates this year.”
“You know, I don’t know. For the sake of Obamacare and the benefits that it gives my wife and her cancer situation, I’m liable to vote Democratic, to be honest with you, even though I’m a registered Republican. I need the assistance that my wife gets for that cancer treatment that she’s been getting. Otherwise it would be tough-going. But I like Kasich. I like what Trump says, but I like Kasich’s background experience. They (Republican candidates) haven’t explained to me how they might still assist my wife and our economic situation with her cancer coverage. That’s the bottom line as far as I’m concerned right now, health coverage.”
“Ben Carson. I think he’s intelligent, honest, and has good ideas about taking care of disadvantaged people. He’s got a good story himself as far as coming from a disadvantaged background to being a success story.”
“I’m most likely going to vote for Hillary even though I’m still a little conflicted between Hillary and Bernie. The reason I would vote for Hillary is that I think we do need some sort of establishment. Establishment does sort of corrupt politicians, but if you don’t have establishment you just won’t have educational standards or state standards. Even though I’m slightly conflicted, I’m voting for Hillary.”
