VACANCY: One Member – CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION as of Dec. 31, 2015
RESPONSIBILITIES: Interprets and administers Civil Service rules and regulations concerning the employment and discipline of City employees. VACANCY: Three Members – CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION
One vacancy for a term to expire 12/31/16 AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY

RESPONSIBILITIES: To unify and advocate for the many and diverse art and cultural components in Coronado; ensure and improve the health of the arts community; and to seek outside funding as needed. Members must file a financial disclosure statement upon assuming office, annually, and upon leaving office.
VACANCY: One Member – HISTORIC RESOURCE COMMISSION as of Dec. 31, 2015
RESPONSIBILITIES: Commission takes action regarding determinations of historic significance, Historic Resource Alteration Permits, and recommends Mills Act contracts. Members must file a financial disclosure statement upon assuming office, annually, and upon leaving office. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015.
VACANCY: One Member – PLANNING COMMISSION as of Dec. 31, 2015
RESPONSIBILITIES: Makes recommendations to the City Council relating to planning; the General Plan; and zoning matters. Members must file a financial disclosure statement upon assuming office, annually, and upon leaving office. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015.
QUALIFICATIONS for all vacancies: Resident and registered voter in the City of Coronado. Must successfully complete State-required Ethics Training.
VACANCY: One Member – TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION – AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY
RESPONSIBILITIES: The purpose of the Transportation Commission is to work with City staff and citizens to make recommendations on transportation issues to the City Council. The duties of the commissioners are to investigate methods that calm and slow traffic; maximize the efficiency and safety of the current circulation system and integrate all participants including cyclists, pedestrians, and public transportation; improve the commuter experience without detracting from Coronado’s quality of life.
QUALIFICATIONS: Coronado resident who lives in and will represent the Village area of Coronado and registered voter.
TERM: To complete a term to expire February 28, 2018.
