An American Christmas Annual Holiday Feast and Celebration
To Be Hosted at San Diego Centenarian and National Landmark, the US Grant Hotel
CORONADO, Calif. (September 2, 2015) Lamb’s Players Theatre and the US Grant Hotel today announced that An American Christmas, the Theatre’s annual holiday feast and celebration, will be held from December 17-26 in the Hotel’s Presidential Ballroom.
The event’s creator, Producing Artistic Director Robert Smyth commented, “We are honored to host An American Christmas at another treasured San Diego landmark. We were delighted to have partnered with the Hotel del Coronado for the past 21 years, and look forward to presenting our next chapter with new storytelling opportunities and at the US Grant. Built in 1910, the hotel is a stunningly beautiful venue, and with our production taking guests back 100 years, we will be celebrating in 1915, at the time of the US Grant’s 5th Anniversary.”
An American Christmas, a 1915 Feast & Celebration is a 3-hour evening featuring 24 of San Diego’s most regarded performers, and filled with music, dance, story, song and laughter, all woven through an interactive 5-course holiday dinner.
Since 1992, the unique event has become an annual tradition for hundreds of San Diego families, as well as drawing guests from around the Southwest and beyond. Lamb’s first presented An American Christmas at the historic Granger Music Hall in National City. Two years later, the non-profit organization opened a newly remodeled resident theatre in the Spreckels Building in Coronado, and relocated An American Christmas to the (also historic) Hotel del Coronado. Now at the US Grant, guests will be enchanted by the hotel’s Presidential legacy as well as the extraordinary architecture of Harrison Albright, who designed both the US Grant and the Spreckels Building (home to Lamb’s resident theatre in Coronado).
An American Christmas, a 1915 Feast & Celebration runs nightly at the US Grant Hotel from December 17 26, 2015 (except December 25) from 6:30 to 9:30pm in the Presidential Ballroom. Tickets include the evening’s entertainment, a champagne toast and 5-course dinner, and are priced from $152 to $176, depending on the event date. Children’s tickets (ages 5 to 12) are $40 less.
Tickets are available online at www.lambsplayers.org, or by calling the Lamb’s Box Office: 619-437-6000 (Tuesday Saturday, noon-7pm).
