First Annual Celebration of “Community of Compassion” Inspired by Nicolas Brown

Supply Our Students, a 501(c) (3) organization, is having its First Annual Celebration of a Community of Compassion on February 10 at the Hotel Del promoting and highlighting Nicolas Brown in Coronado, CA

Coronado, California – Supply Our Students (SOS), located in Coronado, California, focuses on helping children and families in need of school supplies, clothing, equipment, transportation, social activities, educational and county resource information and children’s fitness programs. Each year, Supply Our Students will organize a community event with a special spotlight on a child in need in San Diego County. SOS is having its First Annual Celebration of a Community of Compassion on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Sundeck at the Hotel del Coronado. This year, SOS has selected Nicolas Brown as the child we will promote and highlight during this very special event. Nicolas who we have dubbed “Nado Nic” because of his long-time residency in Coronado, CA, has been afflicted with Myotubular Myopathy (MTM) since birth and requires extensive 24/7 care.

Our First Annual Celebration on February 10, 2015 will be exciting and unique with presentations and accolades by official and community leaders, national journalists, business owners, and military provide personnel. Our guest, Fred Dickey, a national journalist for the San Diego Union Tribune, will make a special presentation at our event. Had it not been for Mr. Dickey’s care and concern about Nicolas Brown, the community would not have been able to help raise funds to purchase a wheelchair accessible van for Nado Nic. In addition, the Coronado Mayor and Police Chief will be speaking as well as other community leaders! There will be food, dancing, face painting, and entertainment!

SOS hired a professional documentary videographer to capture highlights of this event as well as other community efforts in its desire to produce a short-film documentary about Nado Nic, MTM, the First Annual event, and the generous outpouring of our community’s compassion shown in helping Nado Nic and others similarly situated in our county.

Please contact Amel Esposito at (619) 313-4212 with your Facebook or email address to receive a formal invitation as this will be an RSVP only event. With entry tickets at only $20 for adults and no charge for children, this will certainly be a sold-out event!
