Obituary: Nicholas Castellanos: 1996 – 2015 – Memorial Service January 24th, 2015


Nicholas Allan Castellanos, age 18 passed away suddenly on January 16, 2015. He was born in Santa Monica, California on August 2, 1996 to Leslie Swanson Castellanos and Allan Castellanos.

He graduated in 2014 from Coronado High School and just completed his first semester at California State University Chico. Nicholas was a loving, caring son and a loyal friend to all. He especially enjoyed playing lacrosse, participating in the Junior Lifeguard program, surfing, snowboarding, and most of all, spending time with his many friends and family.

All who were blessed to know Nicholas will miss his infectious smile, his wonderful sense of humor, his kind heart, his drive and determination to succeed in every endeavor, and his enthusiasm and zest for life.

He is survived by his loving parents; his grandparents Douglas and Suzanne Swanson and Heide Castellanos; Aunts and Uncles Douglas Swanson Jr. and wife Courtney Marinis Swanson, and Vivian Hackett; cousins Sarah, Skyler, William and Doug Swanson III, and Zoe and Kaiden Hackett. Nicholas also leaves behind his beloved dogs Jasmine and Indy.

A memorial service for Nicholas will be held at Coronado High School Stadium on Neidermeyer Field, Saturday. January 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with a reception immediately following at Loew’s Coronado Bay Resort.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nicholas’ name to Coronado Schools Foundation (201 6th Street, Coronado, CA 92118), Chico State Men’s Club Lacrosse Team (2604 Ceanothus, Chico, CA 95973, UF Men’s Lacrosse), Coronado Community Animal Rescue and Education Society (P.O. Box 181033, Coronado, CA 92178).
