Collaborative Project Results in Stunning New Visitor Website for Coronado

New site a perfect resource for visitors AND residents!

Visit CoronadoVisitorCenter.com again and again…

The Coronado Visitor Center, in partnership with the Coronado Tourism Improvement District, enthusiastically announces a new, ‘optimized’ City of Coronado visitor website. The site is a one-stop resource connecting visitors to the businesses, landmarks and culture of Coronado and a means for residents to stay up-to-date with Coronado happenings.

“It just makes good business sense to collaborate and pool our resources to better serve our visitors, businesses and City,” acknowledged Janet Francis, General Manager of the Coronado Visitor Center. “The Visitor Center and Tourism Improvement District are natural partners for Coronado.”

Filled with stunning images, videos and useful information, the new website will attract visitors over and over again. One can find detailed information about things to do, events, shopping, dining, accommodations, transportation–including a ‘Car-Free Coronado’ section–and group activities.

Each business has a detailed profile with many features: multiple photos, Google map to the business location, reservation opportunities and a link to their own website. Because the CTID funded the website’s development, these listings are offered at no cost to businesses.

“The website is an important tool in our effort to communicate more effectively with visitors and the businesses in Coronado. The redesign allows us to better organize and present valuable information,” explained Claudia Ludlow, Chair of the Coronado Tourism Improvement District. “

Raindrop Marketing, owned by Coronado resident Jacques Spitzer, developed the design, navigation and user-experience for the website. The ‘optimized website’ resizes to fit any personal electronic device–smartphone, tablet or PC. The view screen automatically adapts for easy use. This promotes visitor services beyond the walls of a physical building by providing access to information about the island any time of day from any location.

“This re-design accomplishes much for our residents and visitors,” noted Bruce Linder, Executive Director of the Coronado Historical Association. “It’s a treasure trove of information and a wonderful way for us to accomplish our mission of providing services and worthy experiences to all in Coronado.”

Currently the Visitor Center site receives over half a million visitors per year—a number expected to grow with the new website. The Visitor Center will continue to manage the site. Submissions for the website or Coronado Community calendar should be sent to Janet Francis, [email protected]
