Coronado Scribes Poetry and Prose Weekly Feature: “The Tide and the Sea” Poem by Channing DeVoueroix

THE TIDE AND SEA

By

Channing DeVoueroix

The sea’s in drag today,

Casting his frilly garments upon the shore

He struts his girliness,

Along the great sand runway;

Posing, turning, twirling here and there.

Once again he says, “Come hither!”Then pulling back with the tide

Splashing white lace,

He flirts, fondles and fantasizes along the shoreline;

Panting, he falls hard and finishes

As the tide swoops his silkiness out once more.
