The “Pomona Roundabout” project should be completed in early August and be opened for public use. The above photo was taken July 28, 2014. More asphalt was seen being put down on the remaining road outlets today.
According the City Manager’s weekly report:
Construction on all remaining storm drain pipes, inlets and concrete work, and nearly all landscaping items, was completed. The contractor is preparing to pave the roundabout next week. The contractor reports the roundabout may be open in early August. The intersection remains closed to through traffic with drivers being detoured around the construction zone. Please remember to follow the detours and obey all traffic signs in and around the construction area. For more information on the project, this PSA explains the construction of the permanent roundabout on Pomona Avenue.
