Shipwreck Monte Carlo Like You’ve Never Seen or Heard (Video)

I was asked to participate in a gentleman’s Master’s Thesis on history of the floating gambling casinos that dotted our coast in the 1930s. In particular, he was inter
ested in what I knew about Coronado’s casino – the Monte Carlo. The young historian is a delightful fellow named Michael B. Burton. His blog is called “Bear Flag Libation.” Some museum is gonna hit a home run when they hire him.

Without a doubt, I can tell you that this gentleman’s four-part series on the floating sin ships is, to date, the most ambitious gathering of information and history on the subject EVER. I’m flattered to be a part of it, and attached is part three of the four segments. It has long been a dream of mine that college professors would assign more Master’s Thesis topics on specific bits of Coronado history. Perhaps this is the start of something big …

In this segment (which focuses on Coronado’s Monte Carlo) you’ll hear stories told to me, first-hand, by people with experiences on the Monte Carlo. You’ll hear stories from Ralph Mitchell, Colonel Dick Kenney, Bud Bernhard, Trudy Keys, Kat Carlin, and more.

I hope it makes you smile, and I hope you learn something about Coronado’s most infamous landmark – the shipwreck Monte Carlo. Dontcha just love Coronado history?

So, hit the link, sit back, and just listen to us ramble about our favorite topic, the history of Coronado, and the shipwreck Monte Carlo. Thank you Mike Burton.
