Throughout March, you can sample fantastic wines, enjoy food pairings and learn about wine making from the experts during Hotel del Coronado’s award-winning Sunday Brunch. Every Sunday, this gastronomical delight will feature some of San Diego’s finest local wines from Fallbrook, Orfila and Wilson Creek Wineries. Recommended food pairings will include some of the following each week:
- Lamb, Rosemary Demi and Mint Chutney Paired with Fallbrook Winery’s Chardonnay Special Selection 2012 Monterey County Santa Lucia Highlands
- Freshly Carved Rib Eye and Truffle Demi Paired with Fallbrook Winery’s Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2012
- Short Rib-Sweet Potato Puree and Cipollini Onion Paired with Orfila Winery’s Benign Neglect Estate Syrah
- French Macaroons Paired with Wilson Creek Winery’s Almond Champagne
The Del’s Brunch buffet is available in the magnificent Crown Room from 9:30am – 1:30pm each Sunday and features an interactive and luxurious progressive dining experience. Multiple stations offer a cornucopia of gourmet cuisine, manned by toque-wearing sous chefs who “bring the kitchen into the room,” according to executive sous chef Julian Quinones. “Our goal is to offer a great experience that constantly evolves for our guests. We use brunch as a platform to try new ideas, trends and dishes like our wine pairings this March.” Cost is $85 for adults and $24.50 for children ages 6-12 (not including tax and gratuity). Children 5 and under eat free.
