Wallet stolen from diner in local eatery leads to $4000 in losses

Coronado police are investigating the theft of a wallet from a patron at a local restaurant, which was taken from her purse while she dined. On November 27th, between 9 and 11 a.m., while the woman was eating at the Panera restaurant on Orange Avenue, the suspect placed a jacket over the victim’s purse, which was sitting on the floor. At some point, the suspect removed the wallet from the purse while the victim was preoccupied.

To date, the theft has resulted in credit card losses of over $4000 from Target and Best Buy stores.

Coronado police are actively investigating the case.
