Happy Thanksgiving from Hawaii!!!

Happy Early Thanksgiving to everyone in Coronado and on eCoronado!!! We all have so much to be thankful for, and the holidays are all about spending time with loved ones, and keeping those we cannot be with in person in our hearts. The holidays are hitting full force here on Oahu, and each winter holiday here almost always brings insane waves and sunshine. Being a native San Diegan, I am accustomed to feeling some sort of sun in the winter months so this is my idea of holiday weather. The next few days will predictably start with most people heading down to the Haleiwa Starbucks and Foodland to stock up on much needed supplies, then on to the beach or pool, finishing off with last minute shopping and spending time with family and friends. There is a distinct winter chill in the air at night, so I get to pull my Ugg boots out of the closet and throw on my sweats for the first time since last spring. (yes, we wear ugg boots even in Hawaii). The Christmas lights are all appearing in the shops, malls, buildings, and houses, and the Christmas music has just begun to play in the stores. Tourists are flooding to see the Triple Crown surfing events, and tour buses jam up the Kam. Hwy at sunset beach to get a look at the action. But at this time of year each year, there is a distinct smell and feel to the air, indicating big waves to come, and a reminder that the holidays are a great time to spread love, joy, and peace to all around us. Happy Holidays from across the Pacific!!! Wish I could go to the skate rink at the Del!
