On behalf of the Coronado Fourth of July Committee, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of those who made Coronado’s seventieth anniversary parade such a wonderful celebration for everyone. All of the day’s activities are a reflection of the hard work of so many people who volunteer their time and without them our day would not have been a success. We would like to give a special thanks to the Coronado Police Department, Coronado Fire Department, Coronado Lifeguards, and the City’s Public Works personnel who make it “The Crown City.”
The Committee would like to express our appreciation to all the business owners, individuals, and families who provided financial support towards our efforts not only this year but in previous years too. Thank you to the Eagle publications for their continued donation of the programs and assistance in publicizing our day’s events as the official program. We would also like to thank CoronadoTimes.com for their continued support in being our official website to provide information over the web. We cannot forget the hundreds of volunteers who worked the day’s various activities such as the parade, the run, the swim, the concert, and traffic control – thank you! Your help made everything possible.
A tremendous thank you to all the branches of the military who participated in our parade as well as those serving overseas – your sacrifice never goes unnoticed. Thank you to the flag officers who joined us at the grandstands and helped to present the parade’s awards.
Another thanks to Art in the Park, the San Diego Star Wars Society, and the Adrian Empire and to those who made it possible. We would also like to thank the Coronado Community Concert Band who entertained thousands at the Concert in the Park.
To the managers of KYXY 96.5 who provided music for another outstanding firework show over Glorietta Bay that delighted the crowds, we thank you. A special thanks to the San Diego Unified Port District for their contribution towards the day and the firework show. This year’s show was a fitting end to the day’s celebration.
To each citizen of Coronado who cheered on the parade entries and welcomed the thousands of visitors who came to Coronado for the day – thank you for showing our town’s guests a true Coronado welcome. To each of you who donated funds and goods to assist the Parade Committee for the day’s events – your contributions were gratefully received and put to good use. Thank you for your generosity.
Thank you again for showing that Coronado sure knows how to celebrate our Nation’s Independence Day!
Sincerely,
Dave Szymanski
