I am a resident on 4th and C Avenue.  Nonetheless, I have volunteered in the past to support the grass roots effort to place permanent pedestrian crossing signs on 3rd and 4th at F Avenue.  I strongly support that initiative as an example of residents like me who are concerned about the safety of children and others.  They are doing something positive to reduce a threat by traffic in a residential area, in this case a threat to children going to and from school.  Obviously, if the signs were permanent, they would offer protection fulltime and support other goals associated with traffic calming and safety along the 3rd and 4th street corridors.  My hat is off to the volunteers who are supporting the initiative at 3rd and 4th at F Avenue.
