CoSA Showcase Night returns — Experience the arts in action on Nov. 4

Back by popular demand, CoSA Showcase Night returns for an unforgettable evening celebrating the creativity, talent, and imagination of the next generation of artists, Wednesday, November 4.

The Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) invites families, arts lovers, prospective students, and community members from across San Diego County to experience CoSA Showcase Night, a free, family-friendly celebration of the arts on Wednesday, November 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Coronado Performing Arts Center, 650 D Avenue in Coronado.

For one special evening, audiences will get a taste of everything CoSA has to offer. Enjoy free, live performances by extraordinary student artists in Dance, Musical Theatre & Drama, and Instrumental Music, along with screenings of student films, animations, and behind-the-scenes documentaries. Guests can also explore exhibitions featuring sets from the musical Grease created by Technical Theatre and Production students as well as original artwork created by CoSA’s student artists from Visual Arts.

Whether you love live theatre, music, dance, film, animation, visual art or simply want to see what happens when passionate young artists are given the opportunity to create, CoSA Showcase Night offers something to inspire audiences of all ages.

CoSA Showcase Night Host, Wendy Alcaraz  welcomes all, “CoSA Showcase Night is only a small taste of what our talented community of artists do. Our passion is carried through, every dance move, brush stroke and music note; We want to inspire the community and bring as many people as we can to share our passion and talent with others.”

The event is also an opportunity to discover the many ways to become part of the CoSA community.

Senior Emma Olson reflects, “Being the president of CoSA Council has taught me the importance of promoting other artists, the beauty of each conservatory, and the amount of hard work that all of my peers put into their passions.”

Danielle-Elizabeth Mensah-Baah, a Sophomore attending CoSA, shares about the personal impact of being in the Digital Arts Conservatory, “In our CoSA Digital Art strands, we bring together a variety of perspectives, from bold graphic posters designs, to cinematic films and vibrant animations creating a collaborative community transforming raw imagination into professional art pieces.”

Prospective students and families can learn about the 2027–2028 application process, while community members can find out more about opportunities to become CoSA Board Members, Community Supporters, and Patrons of the Arts.

“CoSA provides an inspiring environment where students don’t just learn artistic technique; they find their voice, hone their talent, and build lifelong confidence. Showcase Night reflects the extraordinary work happening in our classrooms every single day, and we are thrilled to welcome the public to experience it,” Karin Mellina, Principal of Coronado High School and Director of Coronado School of the Arts.
