5 8 P.M.
The Coronado Senior Center would like to encourage everyone in Coronado over the age of “50” to join us at the Senior Center to share in “wine & cheese” or “cake & coffee” at our first “Twilight Happy Hour and Membership Drive“.
The Senior Center is reaching out to these “young seniors” that would like to stop off on their way home from work to see what activities could be made available for them in the evening. There may also be seniors who have day time activities that prevent them from participating in our normally scheduled day time functions.
By reaching out to all seniors, we can determine what activities they would be interested in developing for their enjoyment and from that information could potentially develop an evening schedule. This event is the first step towards building a foundation from this 50-65 year old group so it will be natural for them to merge into the day time schedule as they reach retirement.
After working your entire life, at retirement you can find yourself socially disconnected from your local community and neighbors as your friends and social life had been mainly through people you knew from work. At the Coronado Senior Center you will find a connection to the community and a built in network of friends.
The Coronado Senior Center would like to offer this experience to those who may still be working to meet others in Coronado in the same situation.
This is also an opportunity for those who are currently members of the center to bring a friend or neighbor who might be interested in becoming a member and joining in the fun.
Current members are encouraged to join us in greeting all the potential newcomers to encourage them to join the center and enjoy the fun that includes a monthly luncheon and breakfast, discussion groups, bridge and pinochle, mah jong, creative writing classes, bingo and movies.
