As a fitting kick-off to the Memorial Day holiday weekend, Coronado Island Film Festival is pleased to announce a special screening of Act of Valor, the 2012 movie directed by Mike “Mouse” McCoy and Scott Waugh of the Bandito Brothers and starring active duty Navy SEALs. The screening will take place on Thursday evening, May 22 at Coronado’s beautifully restored Village Theatre. A pre-screening VIP reception will be held at the Coronado Historical Association’s Museum of History and Art, where the exhibit, “The History of the Navy SEALs in Coronado” will be on display in the gallery. The CHA exhibit is part of a greater, ten-museum exhibit sponsored by Balboa Park’s History Center, which focuses on the military’s influence on this region. Guests will enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres hosted by Tent City Restaurant and prepared by Candela’s by the Bay, Tent City’s sister Coronado restaurant.
