Visions of Coronado Exhibition in the New Community Center Art Gallery

The Coronado Cultural Arts Commission is pleased to announce the installation of the Community Center Art Gallery to exhibit art work by local artists. The gallery will be comprised of four areas to exhibit work of various media, including paintings and photography, pottery, sculpture, and glass, etc. Overall the gallery will be approximately 60 linear feet of display area.

The opening exhibition, one of the Celebrate 125 events, is “Visions of Coronado,” a juried show by local artists of works inspired by Coronado, which will run November 19, 2015 through March 1016. The ribbon cutting and artists’ reception will be held in the Nautilus room on November 19. The gallery will be used for future juried exhibitions featuring 1-4 artists on a rotating basis. There will be a People’s Choice Award for the Visions exhibit which will provide the winning artist(s) an opportunity for an exhibition in 2016.

The Coronado Community Center Art Gallery is an exhibition opportunity and a service to local artists. Artists may offer their work for sale. Informational meetings will be held on September 30 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the gallery space (the hallway between the Nautilus room and Coronado Playhouse at the Coronado Community Center) to provide more detail on this and upcoming events as well as answer any questions from the artists.
