Double Your Pleasure with Dinner and A Show, Chicago Style!
The six-time Tony award-winner, “CHICAGO,” opens at the Coronado Performing Arts Center, 650 D Avenue, on Nov. 1. With each performance, the Coronado School of the Arts Foundation will offer Chicago-styled food pairings so that patrons can enjoy dinner and a show – and all that jazz! With deep dish pies and brats right off the grill, theatre goers and food ies alike will be dazzled, with a percentage of the dinner proceeds benefiting the CoSA Foundation.
America’s most popular musical, “CHICAGO,” will be performed Nov. 1 at 7 PM; Nov. 2 at 2 PM; Nov. 7 at 7 PM; and Nov 8 at 7 PM, featuring the talents of San Diego County’s premier public school arts conservatory, Coronado School of the Arts. CoSA Foundation will whet the appetites of theatre goers with the following foodie offerings:
- Sat., Nov. 1, 6 PM through Intermission: Lefty’s Chicago Pizzeria (Served at the Theatre, with Outdoor Seating)
- Sun., Nov. 2, 12:30 PM through Intermission: It’s A Dog’s World Food Truck (Outdoor Seating at the Theatre)
- Fri., Nov. 7, 6 PM through Intermission: Taste of Chicago Food Truck (Outdoor Seating at the Theatre)
- Sat., Nov. 8, Pre & Post Show Chicago-Style Dining at The Tavern, 1310 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA, www.coronadotavern.com (Special Chicago menu and drinks, 10 percent of proceeds to CoSA Foundation)
“What better way to celebrate our students’ talents than to offer their guests a full night of entertainment,” says Christina Curtin, Development Director. In addition, CoSA Foundation will host an opening night VIP Red Carpet Event Saturday, Nov. 1, 5:30 PM. The $50 per person reception will take place at the tennis courts across D Avenue from the theatre. Guests will enjoy champagne and appetizers, a red-carpet show arrival, a new sculpture unveiling in the theatre lobby, and preferred seating for the show. Tickets to the show can be purchased at www.cosasandiego.com or at the Box Office 30 minutes before show time. Ticket prices are $18 Adults; $14 Senior (65+); $14 Military (Active Duty/Retired); $8 Students (non-CUSD and all College); $6 CUSD Students and Staff. There is a 10 percent discount for six or more tickets purchased online. Seating is by general admission.
