Coronado High sophomore Kesar Patel won her match yesterday to advance to the round of eight in the City Conference girls’ Match Play Championship.
Patel, the no. 4 seed, defeated no.13-seeded Soozy Zerbe of Point Loma High 5-and-3 over nine holes on the North Course at Torrey Pines GC. She next faces no. 5 seed Jordan Larocco, also of Point Loma, today at Torrey Pines.
Larocco ended CHS senior Neyla Buil Macarty’s match play run, 2-and-1.
