Dear Assemblyman Gloria,

I read your comments in today’s VOSD and re your tweet. Please explain why 8 years of Democrat CA Governors and POTUS Obama did not see fit to provide more HUD funding for San Diego? You say the homeless situation has been growing since 2013. Why was the homeless issue not addressed before now? California has had a surplus in their budget. Get it done Governor Newsom!

Since two Democrat CA governors have not built water holding facilities, and the roads are still a mess, the train tracks through Del Mar have been allowed to steadily erode, there should have been funds for dealing with the homeless before now. If it takes Republican POTUS Trump to shine a bright light on California’s inability to fix what 2 Democrat Governors and POTUS Obama didn’t tackle, so be it.

Please give credit where credit is due, and lay responsibility for the past 9 years where it belongs. Partisan politics will not fix any of California’s problems.

Good luck with finally requesting and obtaining HUD funding and CA state funding for San Diego’s issues.

Sincerely,
Carolyn Rogerson
