The CPD is asking residents & businesses, even if not victims of this crime, to check their video security systems for activity on Sunday July 21st between the hours of 1:30am – 2:30am for activity that may have captured the suspect(s) and/or their vehicle.

A Coronado resident’s ring doorbell video/audio from early Sunday morning. The gun shots can be heard, getting louder, beginning around the 20 second mark.

The Coronado Police Department shared on Sunday morning, July 21 that, “Someone used a BB gun to shoot out several windows around town early this morning. So far, 11 incidents have been reported. In addition to car windows being damaged, a business in the 1200 block of Orange Avenue reported two of their windows shattered, and a homeowner reported having their front window broken. Similar incidents were reported in San Diego overnight.”

By Monday afternoon 23 victims (22 vehicles and one business) had reported incidents and the CPD was anticipating additional reports.

Similar crimes have recently occurred in San Diego Police Department’s Central & Western Divisions and the CPD believes the incidents are related. CDP is working together with SDPD to identify the suspect(s). They believe the white car driving in the street at the end of the video above is related to these crimes.

The CPD is asking residents & businesses, even if not victims of this crime, to check their video security systems for activity on Sunday July 21st between the hours of 1:30am – 2:30am for activity that may have captured the suspect(s) and/or their vehicle.
