Later in the day, Barker and Hane wrapped up the Mother-Son Doubles championship with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over fourth-seeded Ryan Seggerman and Pamela Seggerman of Coronado, Calif., on Court No. 10.

Diane Barker and Matthew Hane won the Mother-Son Doubles championship with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over fourth-seeded Ryan Seggerman and Pamela Seggerman of Coronado.

Following their championship matches, tournament officials presented Barker and Hane with USTA gold balls for winning the Sr. Mother-Son and Mother-Son titles.

“It was tough. We certainly played our best today, which has helpful. We were confident we would be in the running for both (titles). The Open is getting tougher and tougher,” Hane said. “This is by far and away the best and the toughest competition of these Mother-Son Nationals. Anytime you can win two gold (balls), especially here, it’s a big accomplishment. It’s exciting.”

The third-seeded team of Desmond McBride and Jordyn McBride of Valencia, Calif., won the Father-Daughter Doubles Championship when fourth-seeded Julia Ronney and Doug Ronney of San Diego withdrew from the tournament due to a personal circumstance.
