Top 10 Things That Sell Your Luxury Home in 2019

For over 20 years The Clements Group have become an integral part of the Coronado community and real estate market. Since 2012 they have been the market leader offering their clients an unsurpassed level of service, backed by the global strength of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.

After evaluating over 45,000 luxury properties, Realtor.com came up with a list of the Top 10 Things that Sell Homes in 2019. Comparing the list to some of the fabulous homes we have for sale and have sold in the past year, we could not agree more.

#1 – Retractable Glass Walls

Maximizing the “light and bright” feel of your home makes buyers to take notice! Bringing the outdoors in helps to make the living spaces of your home even more substantial.

#2 – High Ceilings

Vaulted ceilings make a home feel larger than it is. Buyers are willing to pay a premium for “loftier” spaces.

#3 – Quartzite Countertops

Quartzite has taken over as the popular stone used on kitchen countertops. It is a natural stone that is harder than granite and less likely to stain than marble.

#4 – Butler’s Pantry

Having a butler’s pantry is an entertainer’s dream! Housing additional appliances such as a wine fridge, 2nd dishwasher or warming drawer helps keep the entertaining space clean.

#5 – Private Guest Suite

Providing a quiet, tranquil space for overnight guests to stay is a definite bonus to potential homebuyers. Offering hotel-like amenities such as a spa bath, bedroom with sitting area, coffee bar, etc will keep your home at the forefront of a buyer’s search.

#6 – Spa Bathroom

Luxury buyers are looking for amazing spa bathrooms. After a tough day at the office, hectic day with the kids or a day at the beach, they don’t want to have to go far to find some peace. Tubs with spa jets and showers with multiple showerheads, sprays or steam options will certainly do the trick.

#7 – Neutral Decor

When selling your luxury home it is important that your furnishings enhance what you are selling, not detract from it. The current trend is to have neutral furnishings, paint and décor items that provide the feeling of warmth and tranquility. Light grey hues are very popular.

#8 – Smart Home Systems

Several homes we have sold recently in Coronado come complete with automated home systems that allow you to control the lighting, heating & cooling, security system, music, window treatments and more from an app on your phone. Tech savvy buyers love this!

#9 – Four Car Garage

Having a 4-car garage in Coronado would be a dream as most homes have a 1 or 2 car garage. Off-street parking of any kind is valued on the island.

#10 – Generators

Generators are not something you would typically expect to find in Coronado. Here there is more value given to sump pumps to keep the basement levels on the newer homes on the island dry.
