Two Bodies Found in San Diego Bay, A Day Apart

Port of San Diego Harbor Police are Investigating the Deaths of Two Men Found in San Diego Bay

January 12, 2019 – At approximately 11:58 a.m. on January 12, 2019, Port of San Diego Harbor Police received a call of a possible deceased individual floating along the shoreline of Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego Bay. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased, middle-aged male along the shoreline. Harbor Police divers recovered the victim and transferred the body to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation. There were no obvious signs of trauma.


January 11, 2019 – At approximately 8:18 a.m. on January 11, 2019, Port of San Diego Harbor Police received a call of a possible deceased individual floating in San Diego Bay within Naval Base San Diego. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased, middle-aged male floating in the water. There were no obvious signs of trauma.

The body of the unidentified victim was recovered and ultimately transferred to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will identify the victim and investigate the cause of death.
