Third Annual Chef Throwdown Benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – September 28

3rd Annual Chef Throwdown benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to be held Friday, September 28 at Hotel del Coronado.

The Southern California resort hosts one of the year’s most anticipated culinary events.

Join Hotel del Coronado and San Diego’s top chefs for an unforgettable evening of epicurean splendor benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. 35 of the best chefs from San Diego and Baja will compete at the annual Chef Throwdown on Friday, September 28th from 6-11pm. Tickets are now available for this progressive evening bringing together local fashionable foodies awarding a ‘People’s Choice’ and a Culinary Council of celebrity top chefs and food critics, awarding the Chef Flor Franco Awards for Culinary Excellence. MC’s for this year’s event will be San Diego’s favorite ‘Sam the Cooking Guy,’ and the Food Network’s Melissa d’Arabian.

6:00pm – 7:45pm | Chef Throwdown
Guests will gather on The Del’s oceanfront Windsor Lawn, enjoying appetizers from the competing local chefs. Mingle with the Culinary Council as they tally their favorites, and participate in a silent auction featuring local art, exclusive wine and culinary experiences and more.

8pm – 9:30pm | Seated Dinner and Live Program
The program moves inside to the elegant Ballroom for a 3-course plated dinner from Hotel del Coronado Executive Chef Stefan Peroutka, with first course presented by guest French Master Chef Olivier Dubreuil. Dinner will be followed by a brief CFF program, live auction and award presentation including honoring Chef Works, the global leader in culinary and hospitality apparel, with the Industry Leader Award.

The event will feature 35 of San Diego and Baja’s top chefs, including the following from Coronado:

9:30pm – 11pm | Nightcap
San Diego’s Young Professionals will mingle at NightCap, the Chef Throwdown after-party. The Ballroom-turned-dance party will feature desserts, craft cocktails from local mixologists, and more hors d’oeuvres. The People’s Choice winner of NightCap will also be crowned.

This exciting culinary challenge benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and its ongoing mission to cure cystic fibrosis and provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives. Sponsorships are available from $5,000 (Tax-deductible $1,580). Tickets to the event are available for $250 (tax-deductible $45) and include all the components above. NightCap tickets are also available separately for $50 (not tax-deductible). A limited number of VIP tickets are always available for $350 (tax-deductible $150) that includes all event components plus a VIP reception at 5:30pm, a special meet-and-greet with our chefs, a signed book and valet parking.
