Cops and Robbers: IRS Scam and Spreckels Park Restroom Vandalized Again

Thanks to the Coronado Police Department for providing The Coronado Times with the below information (partial list):

Crimes:

7/25/18: Malicious Mischief/Vandalism (Misdemeanor) near 800 block of First Street

While in the area of Harborview Park, checking the area for any suspicious activity, an officer noticed graffiti on the west wall of the park in three different places.

7/23/18-7/24/18: Report of Domestic Violence at Undisclosed Location

Subjects were involved in a verbal argument on the beach. No injuries were sustained by either party as a result of the argument, and they both left the scene in the same vehicle without further incident.

7/23/18-7/24/18: Obtaining Money by False Pretenses (Over $400) near 300 block of H Avenue

Suspect used fraud and deceit to obtain money from the victim. Suspect claimed she worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and claimed that the victim had four outstanding warrants against her.

7/21/18: Petty Theft near 1200 block of First Street

Unknown suspect defeated the security of the victim’s bicycle lock and stole the victim’s bicycle, fleeing in an unknown direction. The stolen bicycle is valued at $500.

7/20/18-7/21/18: Petty Theft near 800 block of G Avenue

Unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole his gym bag containing a weight belt, wrist wraps, and his work cell phone. The total value of all the items is approximately $695.

7/20/18-7/21/18: Malicious Mischief/Vandalism (Misdemeanor) near 600 block of Orange Avenue

Unknown suspect used unknown means to break the sink in the public restroom at Spreckels Park. Public works advised it would cost approximately $160 to repair the damage, including the sink, labor, and additional plumbing parts.

7/19/18-7/21/18: Burglary of the First Degree near 1700 block of Strand Way

Victim reported an adult male, whom he hired to complete canvas work on his boat, boarded the boat without permission and stole property. Prior to this, while completing the agreed upon work, subject caused damage to the windshield. The value of the property taken was $3,500, and the cost to repair the damaged windshield is estimated at $4,000.
