Coronado High School students interested in participating can contact the team at [email protected]. The team will accept a limited number of new sailors. Requirements include some previous sailing experience and swimming ability.

The team will meet with parents on August 31 at 6:00 p.m. Completed forms, including the medical/physical forms, should be turned in at the meeting. Forms and handbook are available at http://www.coronadoyc.org/jrsailing/chsst. The team’s board and coach will be available at the meeting for additional information.

Students can earn one of the state’s required physical education credits through team participation (contact the CHS counselor for information). The sailing season is September through April and into May if the team qualifies for national championships.

The CHS team has a great track record and includes several Olympians and sailors at colleges across the U.S. For more information, contact Jill Powell, board member, 619-994-1687.
