The City of Coronado Cultural Arts Commission announces “Six in the Summer,” an exhibition opening Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in the Coronado Community Center Gallery through September 24, 2017. An Opening Reception featuring all six artists is scheduled for Wednesday evening, June 7 from 6 to 8 pm in the gallery and Nautilus Room. The event is free and open to the public.
This exhibition features the artwork of six talented local artists selected through a juried process. Painters Tina Christiansen, Jim and Glory Palecek, photographer Charlotte Stubel, porcelain painter Mary Hale and jewelry designer Delores Forsythe. This is the second exhibition of the 2017 season and two additional exhibitions are planned for the year.
Affectionately known as the C3 Gallery, the space officially opened in November 2015 in celebration of Coronado’s 125th Anniversary. Located in the Coronado Community Center at 1845 Strand Way this exhibition space features the work of local artists for display and/or sale.

About the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission: The Coronado Cultural Arts Commission was established by the Coronado City Council in 2011. It is a seven-member commission charged with providing recommendations and taking action to “foster the development and enjoyment of performing, visual, cultural, and other arts in Coronado.” For more information: www.coronadoarts.com.
