Sarah Andersen has been selected for the Israel women’s national lacrosse team that will compete in the 2017 FIL Women’s World Cup in England next July. The announcement of the team resulted from a three-day tryout this summer in Be’er Sheva, Israel, as well as fall exhibition games.

Andersen, currently a junior at Boston University, attended Coronado schools from kindergarten through graduation from CHS in 2014. She played varsity lacrosse for all four years at CHS and is currently in her third year playing for Boston University. In her senior year at CHS she was awarded Top Female Athlete Scholar for Coronado by the High School Sports Association of San Diego.

From the Israel Lacrosse website:
Teams from 24 countries are expected to compete at the quadrennial Women’s World Cup. The blue-and-white have their sights set on improving their world ranking from their 8th place finish at Israel’s first Women’s World Cup appearance in 2013.
The roster is composed of both Israeli players, as well as members of the Jewish diaspora, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL). In conjunction with the Israel Lacrosse Tzedakah Program, each player will be competing in honor of a charity of their choosing. [Sarah will be competing in honor of Sticks For Kids in Israel.]
