In the spirit of the holiday season, the Coronado Junior Woman’s Club is looking to make a holiday wish come true by raising money to help someone in need right here in the Coronado community. Coronado High School freshman Nicolas Brown was born with a disability called Myotubular Myopathy, which causes low toned muscles and makes living in a wheelchair a necessity. Currently, Brown and his family do not have a van that will accommodate his wheelchair and have been using public transportation to access medical care and other daily needs. Brown has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for a handicap accessible van to help with his family’s transportation.
The Coronado Junior Woman’s Club is looking to not only make a donation, but also put a challenge out to the community to help raise money for Brown’s cause. At the beginning of the CJWC fundraiser, Brown had raised a total of $3018 from donations on his GoFundMe account. CJWC has decided that they will match any donations made between now and December 31up to $2000. Any amount raised less than that, the club will match the donated amount with a minimum donation of $1000. This is a challenge that is being put out to all readers to share the love we have for those in need right here in our own community. If you would like to donate, please visit http://www.gofundme.com/ig7clc. Any amount helps, so please do what you can to help this holiday season.
