Jorge Cevallos, a recent graduate of Coronado High School has finished his first season racing for the British Formula Renault with huge accomplishments. The rookie, and youngest on the team, won six Top Ten titles in various races and finished tenth out of 32 cars in the British Formula Renault BARC series. Jorge credits much of his success to his team and his friends and family supporting him back home in Coronado.
Attending Coronado schools since kindergarten, the Coronado local has enjoyed the comfort of the small-town community. He began racing go-karts at age 12, and gradually gained sponsorship from local restaurants and businesses in Coronado. As his dedication to the sport increased, he worked his way into bigger racing circuits for the city of San Diego and the state of California. In 2010 he went to the World Champion race in Italy and placed 16th overall. In November 2011 he was asked to race for the British Formula Renault team and began rigorous training in California to prepare.
Jorge Cevallos left the Coronado bubble for Europe in March and has been living in England. He will return for a short vacation back home later this month to be with friends and family and to train some more on familiar soil. In November he will return to England and begin intensive training to prepare for the next racing season beginning in February/March 2013, with the anticipation of an even more successful season.
