SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF CORONADO

RECEIVES APPRECIATION AWARD FROM TIJUANA ORPHANAGE

CORONADO…..Casa Hogar Sion orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico presented members of Soroptimist International (SI) of Coronado with an appreciation award for the club’s support of the orphanage over the past five years.

Casa Hogar, which was founded in 1998, is funded entirely by private donations and receives no government assistance for the Tijuana orphanage. It currently houses 100 children from newborns to late teens at its residential facility, and provides education and medical care at its Otay location in Tijuana. SI Coronado members are currently participating in an annual drive to provide assistance to the orphanage.

Donations by club members and the Coronado community are being collected through the month of March. Items that are most in need are: baby supplies including diapers and lactose-free formula, all types of household cleaning products and tools, person hygiene items, non-perishable foods, toys for birthday presents, and clothing in good condition for infants through teens.

To support SI Coronado in its efforts to assist the orphanage, either through donations or financial support, please contact club member Sue Gillingham at 619-972-5318. Soroptimist International is a worldwide service organization of women dedicated to improving the lives of women and children locally and around the world.
